Irregularly shaped elements such as side mirrors are one of the biggest challenges when applying PPF film.In this article, we discuss the application technique with so-called bulk film, without the use of pre-cut kits, using ADBL Protect Shield PPF and ADBL PPF Gel.

Surface preparation
We start by thoroughly cleaning, polishing and degreasing the mirror surface.Any loose dust or contamination can cause a micro-defect that will be visible under the film.Repeat the water spraying and squeezing several times to make sure that the surface is completely clean.Application of bulk film
In the bulk technique, the film is cut by hand to the shape of the element. We apply ADBL PPF Gel to the surface of the mirror, which allows you to work longer without the risk of damaging the glue. The film is placed directly on the gel, so that it can be moved and positioned repeatedly.

Blocking and stretching the film
The first application step is to lock the film on one of the edges. Then, with gentle movements, the film is stretched towards the opposite edge, with controlled tension. It is important not to use isopropyl alcohol for blocking, the combination of film and ADBL gel gives sufficient adhesion without additional measures.Raking and smoothing
Roll the foil slowly, moving from the center to the edges to push the gel and air out. Thanks to the slippery structure of PPF Gel, the film does not “catch” the surface, which avoids bends, distortions and sucked in glue points.
