A proprietary top coat with an elastomeric layer. Super hydrophobic, anti-fouling and resistant to road chemicals and mechanical damage. This is the layer that faces the outside world.

Self-healing

ADBL ProHeal

A self-healing layer combining “instant” and “heat” recovery. Fine scratches heal with heat: sunlight, warm water or gentle warming. Together, ProCoat and ProHeal form a top coat with a combined thickness of 15 μm.

What is PPF film and how does it work?

PPF (paint protection film) is a clear, flexible layer of thermoplastic polyurethane applied over a car's paintwork. It protects the bodywork from scratches, stone chips, bug splatter, road chemicals, salt and UV radiation. ADBL Protect film has a self-healing layer - fine scratches disappear with ambient heat or warm water. The top coat (super hydrophobic or water-repellent, depending on the version) makes washing easy and repels dirt.

PPF film vs ceramic coatings

A ceramic coating is a chemical hydrophobic layer just a few microns thick - it enhances gloss, makes washing easier and protects against chemicals. PPF is a physical protective layer 200 μm thick that absorbs stone impacts, protects against chips and self-heals scratches. The best protection comes from combining both: PPF on high-impact areas (front end, sills, door handle cups) + a ceramic coating on the rest of the bodywork.
